El efecto mediador de la adaptabilidad del empleado al teletrabajo inducido por eventos disruptivos en Puerto Rico

Resumen

Como resultado de los eventos disruptivos de los últimos años, el teletrabajo se ha incorporado como parte de los cambios en el entorno laboral. El propósito de este estudio es investigar si los factores de la empresa y del trabajo influyen en la adaptabilidad al teletrabajo para lograr un desempeño y evaluar si la adaptabilidad del empleado media la relación entre los factores de la empresa y el desempeño laboral del empleado y/o si media la relación entre los factores del trabajo y el desempeño laboral. Se utilizó SmartPLS para analizar una muestra de 374 individuos. Los resultados reflejan que la adaptabilidad ejerce una relación parcial entre los factores del trabajo y el desempeño. Esto implica que la adaptabilidad mantiene efectos directos e indirectos entre los factores del trabajo y el desempeño laboral. Este estudio resalta la importancia de la adaptación efectiva y eficiente del empleado al contexto laboral remoto.

    Maribel Ortiz Soto is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship, International Business, and Marketing at the School of Business at the Ana G. Mendez University, Online Spanish Campus. Dr. Ortiz has over 20 years of experience teaching marketing, entrepreneurial, management, and international business courses. Her research interests are marketing, innovation entrepreneurship, and international business. Her work has been published in Cuadernos de Administración, Communication and Society, Multidisciplinary Business Review, Journal of Food Products and Marketing.

    Sandra Mena Candelaria is an Associate Professor of Accounting, Finance, Project Management, Business Simulations, at the School of Business at the Ana G. Mendez University, Online Spanish Campus, has a diverse research expertise in her specialization’s areas. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting and Finances and although she holds a Ph.D. in Project Management. Dr. Mena has over 25 years of experience teaching accounting, finance, project management and Capstone Courses. She actively contributes to the academic community as scholarly journal reviewer and presenter at international conferences. Her dedication to education is demonstrated with mentorship and leadership roles like at the community services. Her research interests are human capital, business simulations, accounting and finance and project management.

    Guisell Larregui Candelaria is professor of Business Administration at Technological Institute of Puerto Rico, Manati Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurial and Management with a specialization in International Business. Dr. Larregui has over 25 years of experience teaching marketing, management, and entrepreneurial courses. Her research interests are branding, marketing, customer experience and entrepreneurship. She actively contributes to the academic community as a scholarly journal reviewer and presenter at international conferences. Dr. Larregui mentor’s student organizations with the Sales and Marketing Executives Association (SME) and DECA, Inc. promoting leadership, community service and entrepreneurship. In addition, she has mentored entrepreneurship projects for the E-Ship Network program at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez campus.
